King Kong

Peter Jackson film; Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody

released: 2005 Dec 05   duration: 3:20:07

A greedy film producer assembles a team of moviemakers and sets out for the infamous Skull Island, where they find more than just cannibalistic natives.

The movie opens with a two minute montage that contrasts scenes from depression-era New York City life with vaudeville theater, all backed by an Al Jolson recording of "I'm Sitting on Top of the World." This contains several interesting specialty acts, including 3 that make use of juggling.

At 0:02:18, Daniel Tusia juggles and eats 3 apples for 2 seconds.

At 0:02:20, Sosina Wogayehu bounce juggles 3 balls while bent over backwards, also seen for just 2 seconds.

At 0:02:30, this sequence finishes with part of a routine by Naomi Watts, playing vaudevillian Ann Darrow, in which she dances and does several hat and acrobatics tricks that are all faked.

At 2:10:31, Ann Darrow tries to win over the giant ape by dancing and juggling. Digital effects were used that fail to make it appear that Naomi Watts is actually juggling three rocks and doing a shoulder throw and under the leg throws.
